Yoga Alliance · 200-hour

200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training

Three weeks in the craft of teaching: voice, sequencing, room control, and the practicum hours to use them. Yoga Alliance-registered, hosted at Aava Resort & Spa.

Length

From

A three-week immersion in the craft of teaching. The goal is to produce teachers who can actually teach on day one, not graduates holding a certificate. You are a conductor, not a performer.

Small cohort (cap of [Placeholder: max group size]), heavy practicum hours, and faculty who stay with the group from day one through the closing ceremony.

The training is Yoga Alliance-registered. Your RYT-200 designation is unlocked on completion of the contact hours, the practicum, and the final teach-out. We aim for graduates who are ready to walk into a studio audition with a real class to offer, not a manual under their arm.

[Placeholder: schedule details — to be confirmed]. The food and the ocean do the rest.

Who this is for

A real read on whether this fits.

We'd rather you skip the training than show up wishing you'd chosen a different one. If three or more of these read true, you're in the right place.

Curriculum

Six modules, woven across three weeks.

The blocks below are taught in parallel: anatomy in the morning, methodology in the afternoon, philosophy and practicum running through the whole arc.

  1. 01

    Foundations of Asana

Alignment, biomechanics, and the why behind the shapes, not only the cues. Sun salutations, standing postures, and seated work, broken down into the principles that transfer to every shape that comes after.

  2. 02

    Anatomy & Physiology

Functional anatomy applied to teaching, including modifications, contraindications, and trauma-aware language. We focus on what you'll actually use in a class: joint mechanics, common compensation patterns, when to refer out.

  3. 03

    Pranayama & Meditation

A structured progression from breath awareness to classical pranayama. Daily meditation practicum, with attention to teaching meditation in non-spiritual contexts where most modern students will encounter it.

  4. 04

    Philosophy & Ethics

The Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita read as living texts, not artefacts. Ethics of teaching, scope of practice, consent in hands-on adjustments, and how to talk about lineage honestly.

  5. 05

    Teaching Methodology

"To be a yoga teacher is to speak a set of words, guide a set of postures, and control the room." The methodology block covers all three: sequencing, cueing, theming, demo, observation, hands-on assists. Heavy practicum: you'll teach, get observed, and re-teach across the three weeks.

  6. 06

    The Business of Teaching

Studio rates, private clients, retreats, online classes, and online presence. The practical realities of making a living as a teacher, covered honestly, with current numbers from working teachers.

Schedule

What graduates say afterwards.

The 200-hour was the most rigorous and most human training I've done. Real anatomy, real teaching hours, no fluff. I started teaching the week I got home.

Common questions

Before you ask.

Is this Yoga Alliance certified?

Khanom Yoga is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School at the RYS-500 level. This 200-hour program is the entry point of our school: graduates earn RYT-200 (Yoga Alliance) certification. Our 300-hour and 500-hour programs are not yet open for enrollment on this site.

How much yoga experience do I need beforehand?

We ask for at least 12 months of regular practice (~2x per week). You don't need to be advanced, but you should be familiar with the foundational shapes (sun salutations, basic standing postures, downward dog) so we can build, not start from zero.

What's included in the price?

All training, 20 nights of accommodation at Aava Resort & Spa (shared by default; single-room supplement available), three meals daily, course manual, and two off-day excursions. Flights and travel insurance are not included.

What's the accommodation like?

Ocean-view rooms at Aava Resort & Spa. Twin-share by default; private rooms available with a single-supplement fee. Full-board (three meals daily) included.

What's the refund and rescheduling policy?

[Placeholder: refund policy and timeline — see Khanom Yoga terms]

What happens after I'm certified?

Lifetime access to our alumni community and continuing-education sessions. Many of our alumni go on to assist or co-teach future cohorts, and we're happy to make studio introductions in Bangkok and the U.S./Europe where we have relationships.
